Taking LTD donations for the Sir Ganksalot bounty part 2

I have left the mighty viper mkIV in shin dez, so hopefully will be nearby over the weekend.

If i do claim the win (unlikely) i donate the diamonds to the pool for GSG3.

Provided i am not too tired of course...

That pillow shouts really loudly some nights...

Real good idea Sir, glad it works so well. Do you also accept painite ? =D

Edit : I still Hate ganking , but I feel like these kind of "event" is whats make the pvp / open more fun and engaging. So again thanks for that =)
Trying to keep it all one material but I appreciate the offer.
As long as you just hate the act and not the person there's nothing wrong with that.

Is that like a spoon with a silent p? still in the washing up bowl would be my guess. ;)

BGS works for squadron got in the way, plus a good scrap with a nice chap in a FDL whose paint I managed to scratch (which only occured as I was in Shin Dez looking for you so good work on livening the scene)

But i am just 4 jumps away in the dolphin, so some efforts will be made to claim my rebuy when I see you about next. Huzzah.

it was supposed to be doom. stupid auto correct 😡

I really must block you and fly around the vicinity, I can just imagine all the salt from the broken instancing I could cause. Oh my, that might upset your 'event'.. Oh, that's right, I don't care.

If people want the right to force me in to PvP I won't want, I'll react and usually in a way that's messy for others. Don't think this is fair? Welcome to the shoe being on the other foot.

😎
Well if you dont want pvp then you could always avoid the pvp systems

I've been saying an Elo rating for PvP pilots would allow odds to be placed. It would allow for flights, brackets, whatever you like...

You know why I don't think this will ever happen? A decent Elo rating system also includes the possibility to lose some rating points (if losing against a lower rated opponent) and this is so totally against FDevs general philosphy that everyone has to be made happy. That's why most rankings in ED are one directional (only up never down) and also why they never reflect any skills but endurance in the first place.

Noo what have i done...
...

You could also promise quadrupling every ltd stolen or something.
I'm asking this theoretically. If there was an organized event where we had players, such as yourself, running cargo to a specified location, pvpers as escorts, and pirates trying to steal the cargo, would you be interested in taking part in something like that? Obviously incentives, rules and specifics would need to be worked out.

Honestly I figured these scenarios go on all the time in PGs where it can be organized without everyone knowing but kudos and +1 for bringing it to open. I'd play any role needed in said event.

The developers of Chess, Go and Diplomacy had nothing to do with instituting an Elo for the various competitive player bases.

FD isn't going to stop anything short of money changing hands. That's when the lawyers step in and steal your work, I mean, sue you out of existence.

I seem to remember Hutton Truckers and Code arrange a weekend of scenarios including this a few years back. I do not think it was open though. I think they had trouble with instancing no the less.

I think open (as in mode and tournament format) is a really neat idea, instancig will I think limit the scale of it, but non the less I think there are legs (Space legs) in the ideas you have, and you probably know way more about instacing behaviour than I do. You even seem to be tempting some "on the fencers" in the great debate to take part.

The piracy one actually appeals to me more than the claim the bounty format to be honest, I have an unused T-7 somewhere. I am though a middle aged European so that 10:00 you talk of :)

If Frontier was to lift the player bounty limit, would we even need to use gimmicks this? Let's face it, the exploit of giving people credits using the bounty mechanism has since been depreciated by fleet carriers, so why not?

OP, I'm not making fun of your "gimmick", but rather Frontier's nerf on bounties that force us to use such gimmicks to begin with.

I completely agree. This whole thing has been great fun but it's ridiculous that I have to do it in the first place.
