Suits and NightVision.

Why do you need to engineer a night vision ??? You guys run out of ideas for suit engineering slots ? Ship have night vision in stock models, SRV have night vision in stock model lol (there are only stock models) why not Suits ???
Nothing at FD is logically consistent, neither in universe or vs our modern world. Everyone has NVGs today, but in the era of laser pistols it’s apparently still uncommon. Like how SRVs don’t have basic Toyota traction control.

Honestly I did not get this and agreed with OP.
Is it real that only 1 (2?) people in the galxy know how to install a night vision to a suit?
And at the same time any shopkeeper knows how to modify any suit and weapon just like that?

My suggestion is to add modules to suits for a common things (flashlight, night vision, jump booster, extra pockets, etc), while keeping engineering for actual specs increasing, with mods adding something extra, which has feeling of a really complex and unique thing (such as Ship modules Effects)

To be honest, the way they treat their space electricians ("Turn power on...") on missions, I wonder that there are any specialists left at all.

-2 different silencers. One for atmo, the other without.
This is incorect.
Audio masking is outdoor regardless of atmosphere.
Noise suppressor is for pressurized indoor spaces. It do not help in light atmosphere.

And for NV, it is very useful but just in few scenarios (unless Frontier makes NPCs see flashlight). Players see flashlight, so if PvP in the dark is your thing NV is a must have.

I have it only on my Maverick as it is the suit with best tools. Having also resistance added and shield regen makes it as tanky as dominator. I am just missing quite steps to finish that build. It will go with two fully silenced weapons - Executioner and Tormentor.

Stations sell exactly 1 (ONE!) piece of pre-upgraded equipment in a system with millions or even billions of inhabitants.
Of course only one person in the whole galaxy can install a NV mod.

I can see the OP's point here.

Night Vision is a built-in feature of Ships & SRV's, so why not Suits?

Though I fortunately, in the first few days of Odyssey release, managed to pick myself up a G2 Maverick with Night Vision upgrade.....this IS my goto Suit as I also have a G3 Maverick Suit - which I don't use yet.
My aim is to upgrade this G2 Suit to G3 then G4 then add mods to it..............btw, the NV is really good.

Another point of note.....is it just me or have the 'locusts' been through the bubble & eaten up all the best gear now?............finding stuff that isn't just G1 is as rare as rocking horse :poop:

I did wonder if they’ve reduced the spawn, there seems to be less this week than previous.

There are some interesting points here comparing Odyssey to base game and agree entirely that there should be greater parity between both...

We should be forced to find a store and purchase ammunition for our foot weapons, or have synthesis built into our suits to do so, I can imagine how exciting it will be in a High CZ having to hide somewhere to synth ammo, or nipping to the Company Store to buy it...

Outside the first week of Odyssey, in which I got nearly all my current stuff by day 4, I only tend to see the odd G2 stuff, no G3.

The now getting old sayings "If I ain't got it, it ain't worth having" "I'v got the best stuff in this System"
leaves me thinking "No you've not, your stuff is :poop: "

I'm not actively looking atm, which may well have a bearing on my experience. But I've only seen one G2 since Thursday.

Yeah, their sales pitch need some work.

I was thinking that yesterday Rat Catcher, why do I have to pay to restock my Ship/SRV ammo & Missiles or Synth them, yet I have an infinite supply of gun ammo hidden somewhere in my Ship/SRV

Good point, I'm not ACTIVELY looking either, I was in the first week or so, but I do make sure that EVERY Station/Settlement/Outpost that I land on I visit Pioneer & view their wares.........I'm just doing some foot missions atm to get some 'items' & rewards.

Still think there's far to much 'junk' to be collected that's neither use nor ornament to me. Inara tells me it's not needed - that list far exceeds stuff that is needed🤷‍♂️

What's the point of a discussion forum if you immediately disqualify anyone with a different opinion as a 'white knight'?
Because "white knighting" defies the idea of discussion by simply discarding any justified criticism.
If we had only "white knights" in this forum it would not be discussion but "praise anything we got served on the table".

White Knights incoming.
I, for one, don't mind that much that it requires an engineer to install that active sensor/augmented reality rig. I don't even need it for every suit. However, what is annoying that the engineer that does them is at the edge of the chain and the unlock goods are really hard to come by. I still haven't even found enough generic repair meds.

Also that Audio Masking/Noise Supression thing seems to work as outdoor/indoor silencing. I can work with that. Long arms for outdoor assassination and pistol to the back of the head close and personal if I have to do it inside. Now if we can only figure out if Yaren Bond does the audio masking.

Looks like they were afraid engineering being too unbalanced again and just added very simple and generic mods with the hopes they are easier to balance.

it seems to me like Suits and Weapons updates/mods and engineering was made by someone who never played ED and he had no idea about how Ships updating/modules and engineering works.

By having unlocked all engineers except Yaren, I can confirm it is either her or the mod can be obtained only from lucky drops AKA no engineer do it. Same applies for quite footsteps.
