Highland or mountain pack - what would you add to it?

I would very much appreciate an proper highland pack with new climbing abilities for some animals.
I know that there are tons of animals that we could fit in this pack (Ibex, Markhor, Vicuña, Ethiopian wolf, Tibetan kiang, Yak, Spectacled bear, Mountain tapir) but I thought of diversity first, then different continents and lastly my own favorites.

What conventional and non conventional species would you like to see in this kind of pack? And what other mechanics?

I would go with:
- Cougar (NA & SA)

- Gelada (Africa)

- Golden Takin (Asia)

- Yellow-footed rock wallaby (Australia)

Exibit:
Mountain horned lizard (Asia)

I like the idea of a mountain or highland pack. I would change the gelada for the Alpine Ibex and the takin for the yak.

Cougar (North America)
Alpine Ibex (Europe)
Yak (Asia)
Rock wallaby (Oceania)

Exhibit: Mountain horned lizard (Asia) - I have no idea for this, but I looked your option and its cool

In my opinion, a yak is more easy to recognise and it's more famous than the takin. Thereofe I think it would be more "easy to sell" for the average player.

I respect the ibex and Gelada switch - I just thought I want some not obvious species from Africa and Gelada would fit in that place and would also satisfy every baboon lover. If I need to switch from Gelada I think I’d go with Nubian ibex or Barbary sheep.

I also thought about Yak a lot but since it’s the another domesticated animal I said definitely no to myself (I wasn’t pleased with llama and they coloration at all - I would love Guanaco or Vicuna instead). I think takin is way more attractive in coloration and behavior and thought of it as a hero of the pack mostly because of it’s extra cute babies.
I have no idea how popular are takins in US but they are widespread across European zoo and yaks are currently quite rare - yaks were present in nearly every zoo in the past and now because of it’s conservation status Takins are much more common in my opinion.

sigh ...as much I'd like to see a Cougar/Mountain Lion/Puma/Whatever I can't help but feel a little meh towards it... the big cat rig has been used enough already and there's plenty of other big cats people are clamoring for...

My local zoo has Takin's... can't think of any that have Yaks... not that I'm against Yaks (so what if they're domesticated, so are camels and every zoo has those) but I for one would much rather have a Takin (although my preference would be the Sichuan Takin; found in 22 zoos in North America according to Wikipedia)...

This kind of pack would make a lot of sense, given that there aren't many alpine animals in-game. It could go well with an European Alps or Nepalese theme and a rustic rocks wall set. If they go the biome-DLC route this one would almost be a given pack after they cover the Desert.

I would love to see
the Markhor, look at those horns!

the Himalaya Tahr, love their fluffy fur!

or this little dudes! the Marmot! (Thank you Aramar ❤)

I think all the animals would fit really well in a "Alpine, Mountain, Highland" Pack. My Favorit is the Apline Ibex (well, its another animal from Europe! 😁)
But I'm fine with every pick.
Foliage can be a lot of different gras and herb types.
Buildingsets, hmm something like a Buthan/Nepalese one? or half-timbered stuff

That would be amazing for me if they would create a new pattern like this.
So desert, mountain and what else do you think?

I would really like to see the shrub and wetlands (swamp) biome.

What about desert, mountain and forest? Forest: temperate forest, taiga forest, rainforest and Mediterranean forest.

or this little dudes! the "Murmeltier" <-- please edit the english Name, i have no idea

It's called a marmot. If we got more than 4 animals in the mountain pack, they could be a great addition because they are small but not too small for the game.

Hmmm... neither cougars nor (especially) rock wallabies are highland specialists though (rock wallabies are not found in mountainous areas at all - I love them but for a desert pack, not a highland pack).

For a good range of animals, I'd pick;

  • Alpine ibex.
  • North American cougar.
  • Japanese serow.
  • Golden snub-nosed monkey.
  • Mountain horned lizard (legitimately the only 'alpine' reptile I could think of).

The only reason I'm picking the snub-nosed monkey rather than the gelada is because if we ever get a baboon I'd rather it was the Hamadryas baboon (could potentially fit this theme too, in saying that).

Also, @DragonNTiger my local zoo keeps a small herd of Tibetan yaks. They are of course of the domestic variety but they're cool animals nonetheless. I wouldn't object to their inclusion.

Cougar
Alpine Ibex
Rocky Mountain Goat or Big Horn Sheep
Andean (Spectacled) Bear
Exhibit: Himalayan jumping spider ( had to google mountainous animals and I found out this is the "highest" animal on the planet. I wonder what they eat though? this fun fact alone makes me want to include them.

Let us try this:

Alpine Marmot (Europe)
Alpine Ibex (Europe)
Rock Hyrax (Africa/Middle East)
Vicuna (South America)

Exhibit:
Kaiser's Spotted Newt (It is endemic to the southern Zagros Mountains in Iran)

I would love to see a Yellow-footed rock wallaby in the game, but I feel like it would fit better in a desert pack or similar.

Me choice:
1.Yak
2. Groundhog
3. Rock hyrax
4. Prairie Chein
5. Andean condor
6. Puma
7. Alpaca or Vignogne or Guanaco
8. Chamois
9. Alpine ibex

i'm british so would love to see, my local welsh mountain flora added.. such as Heather, and bramble patches with Moss covered logs.. mudd and bushrushes for with a boggy terrain type.. shale and cobblestone floor tearrain.. and added flowers like Thistles, bluebells and my nations national flower the Daffodil.. as for animals i cannot think of any that would fit well into a zoo as their ether a wee bit small, such as rabbits and badgers.. or not exotic enough such as my native Red deer, or feral sheep and goats.. but on the other hand .. wee little goats and lambs that could be bottlefed. by guests.. and ponys which also live wild here in wales since the iceage.. could aslo be added.. and add the long wanted pony rides for guests such as children could only bring delight to our zoos.. what do you think?
